Dalam Undang-Undang Ketenagakerjaan No. 13 Tahun 2003 pasal 87 disebutkan bahwa Kesehatan, dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3) merupakan elemen yang wajib diterapkan oleh semua jenis perusahaan.
Upaya pengadaan K3 sangat penting agar terjaminnya keamanan kerja bagi karyawan. Selain itu, pengadaan K3 juga memerlukan pengawasan dari pihak ketiga yang bertindak sebagai auditor.
Oleh karena itu, perusahaan perlu mencari pihak auditor yang kompeten di bidangnya dan menghitung biaya audit K3 yang dibutuhkan.
K3 ialah suatu upaya untuk memastikan keutuhan dan kesempurnaan jasmani dan rohani tenaga kerja. Serta masyarakat pada umumnya terhadap hasil karya dan budaya menuju masyarakat adil dan makmur.
